Important:
You’ve likely received the news: Vandebron is transferring its charge card services to EV Company as of October 1, 2025. Vandebron has announced that it is exiting the EV charging market, for both chargers and charge cards. Their focus is now solely on delivering 100% green energy as quickly as possible.
For many years, Vandebron played a significant role in accelerating the energy transition in the Netherlands, not just as a green energy supplier but also as an early innovator in electric mobility. Starting around 2017, Vandebron built a comprehensive e-mobility offering that included not only charge cards but also the installation and management of home chargers, and pioneering efforts in ‘Smart Charging.’
What does the transfer from Vandebron charge cards to EV Company mean for you?
- Your terms of service will remain the same.
- Existing Vandebron charge card customers will continue to pay their Vandebron subscription fee to EV Company as of October 1, 2025. Vandebron had offered a discount on their charging card for customers who also have a Vandebron energy contract. The charging card then costs €1.50 per month with a Vandebron energy contract instead of €3.50 per month.
- Existing Vandebron charge card customers will continue to pay Vandebron session pricing to EV Company as of October 1, 2025: CPO tariff + €0,02 roaming fee per kWh.
- You can continue to use your Vandebron charge card or key fob (-sleutelhanger), their access will be transferred to EV Company. However, be aware that EV Company charges their customers a one-time fee for a new physical card (€5,50 for a card, €9,50 for a key fob) if you were to replace it later.
- Any of your information with Vandebron will be shared with EV Company on September 1, 2025 unless you cancel your services with Vandebron. This means the deadline to opt-out is approaching rapidly: August 31, 2025.
- An EV Company account will be automatically created for you, from October 1 your charging sessions will be visible via the portal on the EV company website and EV company app.
- For any questions or issues regarding your Vandebron charge card, you will need to contact EV Company directly from October 1 onwards. This shifts your support contact point.
What should I do now?
Charge card offers can change often. With upcoming changes to your Vandebron service, now is a good moment to look into your charging costs and compare charge cards to make sure you’re still getting the best value for your money.

What are the benefits of the Vandebron charge card vs Tap Electric?
In the transition, your Vandebron terms of service for your charge card will remain the same with EV Company as of October 1, 2025.
Important note: EV Company’s standard pricing for their new, direct customers differs. What will my charging experience look like with EV Company after October 1, 2025?
From October 1, existing Vandebron customers will need to use the EV Company website and EV Company app for your EV charging needs.
Your app charging experience can make a big difference – a good EV charging app should make it easy for you to find available chargers any time, see complete charger prices and start charging via the app.
The app interface of EV Company has a more dated design and is slower to load than the Tap Electric app. For the best app experience, enable location services to see relevant, nearby chargers for both apps.
